December 2011 (Issue 16)<\/p>\n

Well here we are in December.
\nHow the hell did that happen?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m really excited about this month\u2019s issue as we have some really awesome fiction for y\u2019all as well as a great interview with one of my favourite people, the scary-ass mofo Danny Trejo, (known to most of you as Machete<\/em>).<\/p>\n

We have two fantastic original pieces this month and two reprints, a great all-rounder for you with spaceships, zombies, the destruction of mankind and a ritual to commune with God.<\/p>\n

Our first story for the month, (available on the 6th of Dec) is \u201cGod of Light\u201d, by Domyelle Rhyse, in which a young girl attempts a last minute escape from a ritual ceremony. \u201cBreathing Space\u201d by Sheila Crosby (out 13th Dec), is our novelette for the month, a hard SF piece set on a mining vessel.<\/p>\n

Next up (on the 20th of Dec) is our end-of-the-world piece for the month, \u201cPulse\u201d, by Tom Jolly and we close of the issue, and the year, (on the 27th of Dec) with our cover story, a poignant look at how the other half live, in \u201cSix Feet Above\u201d, by Cate Gardner.<\/p>\n

As promised, our feature interview this month is with the baddest-ass Mexi-Can ever, Mr. Danny Trejo.
\nOur book review this month is a year-end review of some of our story-editor, Vianne Venter’s, favourite reads for the year with particular focus on Justin Cronin\u2019s The Passage<\/em> and Warm Bodies<\/em> by Isaac Marion.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s it for this issue, and for 2011. We\u2019ll be back in the first week of January with Issue 17 which features fiction from Genevieve Rose Taylor, Mel Odom, K.A. Dean and Cat Hellisen.
